about

Chadhaus is a company founded on the notion that things can still be hand-built and made to last, right here in the USA.

Since establishing Chadhaus in 2006, husband and wife team Chad and Emily Robertson have created a small-scale operation that is part laboratory, part workshop, and part design studio. Everything happens under one roof in our Ballard shop – from conceptual sketches, design, modeling, mockups, and shop drawings, to the fabrication of finished pieces.

Our passion for good design and quality is at the root of everything we do. Inherent in all of our work is a belief that design is complete when nothing can be added or taken away. Our pieces combine utility, fine craftsmanship, and beautiful materials to create modern heirlooms – objects that are classic, durable, and designed to age with grace. This holds true for our product line, as well as custom projects.

Our pieces feature sustainably harvested Pacific Northwest woods, and recycled steel manufactured in Seattle.

Beyond furniture, we tackle larger scale design projects, bringing our love of fine craft and details into spatial environments for life and activity.
